Maria Moldovan

Maria is a full time visual artist living in Arnprior, Ontario. Her main artistic medium is ceramics and she mostly creates sculptural works but
has small edition of functional series as well. She is also teaching ceramics at the Ottawa School of Art.
She holds a BFA in ceramics from the University of Visual Arts and Design, Cluj Napoca, Romania.
For Maria, ceramic art is the perfect medium to explore colors and sculptural forms at the same time.
She mostly works with hand building techniques. Finishing the ceramic surface in a rich manner with different textures, engravings, color and drawings it's a very important part of her works.

In my vision art is a reflection of an individual’s state of mind and in the same time of the collective consciousness. Its main goal is to remain authentic in all conditions. To your inner voice and to your contemporary social environment. As visual artists we speak without words about personal experiences and also about our universal human conditions.
