For over 30 years I’ve been drawn to clay, guided by the generosity of many teachers and mentors. I have developed a deep appreciation for the wood firing process with all its unpredictability and surprises. Ash, flame, and time come together in the kiln to leave a record of a journey through fire on each piece. Just as important is the camaraderie of the firing team working side by side, stoking the kiln, and sharing the experience together.
I enjoy making pots with soft, flowing curves and layering thick slip that follows the contours of the clay underneath, giving a sense of movement to each piece. My work is meant to be used and enjoyed, while bringing a little beauty to everyday life.
