Ottawa, Ontario

In 1971, at McMaster University, in my 4 th year of a Fine Arts degree, my mentor dissuaded me from bronze casting (because of my small stature and the lack of a nearby foundry) and pointed me in the direction of clay.

That resulted in a two-year full-time apprenticeship with Helen Brink, a British potter living in Canada.

Helen’s teacher in England was Harry Davis, an acolyte of Bernard Leach.

For the next 53 years I practiced and taught my craft in Hamilton, Port Colborne and Welland.

Life brought me to Ottawa, where I have happily worked and lived with my husband, sons and grand-children since 1978.
